When I arrange branchy driftwood I don't like to have 2 pieces that have their branches forming a "window". Especially if the shape is anythig close to a rectangle. That "window" is not something that is impossible to find in nature but for me personally it doesn't look appealing.

With no intention of criticizing Oliver in any way - this is what I'm talking about.

What is your opinion?

I whole heartedly agree. The rigid, almost square-like figure this wood arrangement creates feels very unnatural (natural, as in the idealization of nature and not as in creating the perfect biotope). I don't think it is Oliver's best work. However, I think his hardscaping skills have improved markedly since coming back from the ADA training camp --this scape predates that training.
