Betta Fish

Would a betta fish do well in a 29 gallon tanks with a stock of platies, and 2 danios?

I've had a betta in the past for two years in a gallon in a half tank and he did extremely well till he passed away. I don't want to start up another tank and absolutely love bettas so hopefully someone will have some advice for me.

I feel good about it.

Cultivated Bettas, due to their long fins, are very slow and even if it had an appetite for harassment (and it won't unless you add another Betta) your existing fish would easily outrun it.

Stay away from Tiger Barbs, however--they tend to nip the long, flowing fins of Bettas and other more gracile fish.

I just got a crowntail betta named Mac and he's doing great, he mainly keeps to the top area of the tank, but swims around without a problem. The other fish totally ignore him.

Yeah I've kept bettas in community tanks and they seem to do fine. As mentioned stay away from fin nippers with them.
