I opened the paper today and found an interesting article on the front page:
Noxious Weeds, are they hiding in your aquarium?
I was surprised to see so much emphasis on this here in rural Idaho, but the local economy is based in agriculture and this sort of thing gets attention now and then. This article specifically mentions aquarium keepers as a part of the problem.
Just one more reminder to be responsible about disposal of trimmings. Few of us would release non-native fish into local waters but somehow plants "seem" less dangerous. The truth is that certain species can do substantial damage to local waterways.
