Timers and Surge Protector Strips.

Silly question fellers; If I plug in timers in a surge strip - would they still work? or would one timer just trip the whole system?

Any one have any experience on this? I used to have all my timers in separate sockets but in my new set-up, that's just not the case.

Yes, they will still work just fine. The receptacles on your surge protector are most likely wired exactly the same as the receptacles on the wall, with the only difference being that all of them are protected against voltage surges. Most receptacles in a house/building, etc. are wired to where many of them share the same source (circuit breaker usually, but could be a fuse in older buildings). In fact, you can determine which ones share a breaker by turning it off and you'll likely see sections of the building shut down, including multiple receptacles, lights, etc. The timer is only a switch that you can program. Just like when you turn off a light switch it only controls those lights, the timer will only control what you have plugged into it.

Hope this helps.
